L&T bags 1100 cr order from Powergrid & Rail Vikas Nigam Limited



L&T has bagged a slide of large-value orders aggregating Rs 1100 crores in the electrical construction sector in the fourth quarter of 2008-09 from leading public sector organizations – the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited and the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited and involves setting up high end transmission lines and substations as well as a project for the Indian Railways 

The order involves construction of a part of the country’s first ± 800 kV HVDC transmission system for transmitting power from the north east to the northern and western parts of  India.  Extending across 190 km, this HVDC bi-pole transmission line, valued at Rs.169 crores will be executed for the section between Nidhaura Village to Agra in Uttar Pradesh on the main line between Biswanath to Chariyali .

Other orders secured include a Rs190 crores order from Power Transmission Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited for 400 kV double circuit Transmission Line between Loharinagpala to Koteshwar, a Rs.175 crores order from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited for the Bharuch-Dahej Railway Construction Project., and a Rs. 83 crore order from PGCIL for the construction of 765 kV single circuit transmission line from Agra to Jatikalan.

L&T secured three major orders from PGCIL valued at Rs. 480 crores for the construction of 765 kV Substations at Balia, Lucknow and Satna along with associated transformer packages.The entire project will be executed within a tight schedule.

haha its an irony to see that company claming these huge projects to world, is not able to give joinning to new recruits saying we r short of electrical projects….
