- Ambuja Cements is planning to expand in the South India by transporting the building material by sea route, helping it compete with rivals such as India Cements.
- Ansal Properties and Infrastructure will invest Rs 3,600 Cr in Information Technology (IT) Special Economic Zones (SEZ) and IT Parks in the country. Under the scheme, the company will develop 6 IT SEZs in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Maharashtra.
- HCL Technologies has continued to invest and expand in Australia and New Zealand with opening of a new global development centre in Sydney, which will help to accommodate over 500 members across the region.
- Idea cellulars has launched operations in Mumbai circle, making it’s foray into the most lucrative telecom circle in the country. The GSM service provider intends to invest around Rs 800 cr during the current financial year for it’s operations.
- IVRCL Infrastructures & Projects has been awarded Pranahitha-Chevella Lift irrigation Project-Package No.9 work in Karimnagar District, Andhra Pradesh at a project cost of 714.96 Crores by Irrigation and CAD Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
- Mahindra & Mahindra Farm Equipment Sector has signed an agrrement to form a JV in China with Jiangsu Yueda Yancheng Tractor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. Mahindra will hold 51% in the JV through it’s subsidiary, Mahindra Overseas Investment Co (Mauritius) Ltd.
- Ministry of Finance : Department of Financial Services, Govt of India has passed an order for acquiring of State Bank of Saurashtra by State Bank of India. This will come into effect from the effective date as may be notified by the Govt. of India in the official Gazette.
