Satyam computers stock in demand…
On BSE, 71.58 lakh shares were traded in the counter. The scrip had an average daily volume of 2.67 crore shares in the past one quarter.
- The stock hit a high of Rs 44.30 and a low of Rs 41.25 so far during the day. The stock had a 52-week high of Rs 544 on 30 May 2008 and a 52-week low of Rs 11.50 on 9 January 2009.
- The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 2 April 2009, falling 0.99% as compared to the Sensex’s 20.24% rise. It had also underperformed the market in the past one quarter, falling 77.53% even as the Sensex rose 3.92%.
- The mid-cap software outsourcer has an equity capital of Rs 134.78 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.
- The two companies are reportedly looking to offer Rs 2,000 crore for a minimum 51% stake in Satyam, and if successful, will invest another Rs 2,000 crore to revive the firm. L&T will contribute 51% or more to the stake buy, with Ross bringing in the rest of the funding. L&T, which has 12.04% holding in Satyam, reportedly has Rs 4,550 crore cash to pursue the acquisition.
On Saturday, 4 April 2009, Satyam extended the deadline for submitting financial bids for acquiring a controlling stake in the firm to 13 April 2009 from 9 April 2009 as bidders sought more information.
